Who is the masterminds behind decoding dreams? Sigmund Freud is probably the one you hear about the most. Through dreaming you can catch a glimpse into your unconscious mind or your id. Struggle to remember your dreams? Thank your superego for that. Your superego protects the conscious mind from the disturbing images that your unconscious mind has brought up. Alfred Adler is another theorist on dream decoding. He believes that dreams are problem solving devices. Your dreams and problems of daily life are connected and the more dreams you have the more problems you have.We all know about nightmares and day dreaming as forms of dreams but there are actually 11 types of dreaming all together. (Day dreams, false awakening, nightmares, lucid, recurring, healing, prophetic, signal, epic, progressive, and mutual dreams.) Who knew right? I didn't know that there are different types of dreams other than nightmares and day dreams. Mutual dreams are when two people have the same dream. These type of dreams can be planned but they can also be spontaneous as well. It can happen with you and a friend, significant other, a relative that lives far away. It is said that if this type of dream happens then you have a really strong bond with the other person. Epic dreams are when you have a dream that is so huge and vivid that you can ignore them no matter what you do.
This is such an interesting topic! I had no idea there were 11 types of dreams.
ReplyDeleteI know i didn't know that either! I just knew about nightmares and day dreams but i didn't know about any of the other ones. Once I learned about them I tried to think if I had experienced any of the other ones and I don't think I have.
